1800s Pennsylvania Redware Jar
Offered in this no reserve auction is this large, 7 1/2" high, old redware jar, made in the 1800s, and probably in Pennsylvania. It has some darker decoration all around the jar. There are no cracks or agelines. The top rim has an old chip, and the base edge has a small chip. The glaze shows some light wear and scratches and a small spot of glaze loss. At the widest part it measures 6". It weighs 3 lbs. The inside is glazed. The unglazed bottom has a #16 written in the clay.
