Antique 17th-18th century Indo Persian Mughal sword Pulouar. DETAILS: A superb hand forged steel hilt of a characteristic 17th-18th century Northern Indian Islamic type form with stout down turned quillons terminating in dragon heads, attenuated langets chiseled an suite and applied with a brass flower on each side, and a large hollow pommel in the form of a turban. Similar dragons’ heads can be found on Islamic art objects from the Timurids Dynasty as jade and metal jugs, Timurids are ancestors of the Mughals. A heavy and sturdy curved single–edged blade with a central fuller made of hand forged Damascus steel with a visible Watered pattern. MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 90 cm (35 1/2 inches), length of the blade: 77.5 cm (30.5 inches). PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION.
