Up for bid is a framed print of the Princeton University Campus as it was in 1932. In the lower left-hand corner is the name of the artist, J. Riegel Jr., class of 1912, and the copyright date of 1932. Riegel was an artist in the early part of the last century who did a lot of nostalgia based architectural art. This rare find depicts the campus buildings, their construction dates, famous alumni, various activities, and the occasional jab at the beanie-wearing freshman class. There is no damage to the print, and the frame and glass have been well taken care of. The rear has some signs of wear, but this is minimal. The following is written around the perimeter of the print: As we turn our mem'ries back, and recall those days of gladness, 'neath the orange and the black, so we'll banish care and sadness. Please ask questions if I've left anything out. Thanks & Happy Bidding!!! I will gladly combine shipping on multiple purchases to lower your costs. Please visit my other listings by clicking here. |
