This is a fullsize antique violin with a decorative inlaid back. The instrument appears to be German in origin. The inlaid scene is intact and contains abalone and purfling. There is double purfling on the top and the bottom as well. The instrument requires setup but has fitted pegs that could be used. There is a repaired crack on the top coming up from the bottom; there is also a neatly applied small splice at this location. The pegbox has been bushed all around and the pegs hold fine. Internally the violin shows two dates: 1892 and 1917 in European script. S&H in the US is 25 dollars. Overeseas bidders inquire.
