Who doesn't love mermaids?
There are three of them around the outside of this 4 3/4" pot, which is why I used the term "tyg." They're almost like handles, don't you think.
The glaze reminds me of either old, old Roseville or some of the North Carolina potters. However, I have no idea who made this intriguing piece. (Someone who loved bare breasted fish-women, I suppose.)
There are no markings, dang it!
Here at 341, I have two "Prime Directives:"
First: I never, under any circumstances, use a reserve, and everything starts at $9, sometimes even less.
Second: I don't clean, repair, or otherwise monkey around with anything. I push enough dust aside to note any flaws, but if I discovered it in some dusty attic, you can look forward to a little dust on it when it gets to your house. If it has a flaw or a wart, I'll tell you about it. So rest easy and have some fun. Why not place a little tiny bid right now so's you don't forget about it later.
Great detail! You'll notice a couple glaze skips and scuffs, but there are no rim chips or cracks. If you know who made it and care to share, give me a holler.
GOOD LUCK
