This is an original saloon tin advertising tray with a pretty Victorian lady advertising Bartlett Spring Mineral Water, Bartlett Springs Co., San Francisco. At the top left of the tray it says: BOTTLED AT THE SPRINGS. On the right side of the tray it says: HOTEL AND HOUSE-KEEPING COTTAGE and VISIT BARTLETT SPRINGS LAKE CO. CA. The printing on the label on the the bottle says: Bartlett Spring Mineral Water, Bottled at the Springs, The Natural Water As It Comes From The Spring, No Artificial Process, A Positive Cure For Constipation, Kidney, Liver, Stomach & Rheumatic Troubles, BARTLETT SPRINGS CO., Propietors, Bartlett Springs, Lake County California, General Office 701 4th Street, San Francisco, Cal. In very tiny black printing on the bottom of the tray it says: Kaufmann & Strauss Co. N.Y. - 994. The rim of the tray is a dark gold color accented with buttermilk green trim and red-orange lettering. The tray measures 13 1/8 inches in diameter. The center of the front of the tray shows some wear consistent with normal use (no rust). There are no dents. The back side of the tray shows some paint wear and scratches from use. This rare early San Francisco saloon advertising tray would make a nice addition to any saloon, advertising, country store, beer tray, San Francisco or Lake County, California collection.
