ATTRIBUTES: Lovely and simple empire construction; beautiful bird's eye maple chest with a solid maple mirror that also appears to have bird's eye grain. Smooth-sliding dovetailed drawers, original wooden hardware, lovely.

POTENTIAL USES: Beautiful dresser / chest for any room of the house. Used with our vanity and bench, listed separately this week, it makes a great bedroom set. Just add your iron or brass bed and you're good to go with the elegant simplicity of American Empire furnishings for your bedroom.

ORIGIN: American c. 1910

CONDITION: Good condition, ready for use, very sturdy and well made, mild discoloration of top, as shown in photos, typical of this kind of wood.

SIZE: 70 inches tall overall, 36 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 26 inches tall to cabinet top

SHIPPING: $98.50 to your nearest GPX/Greyhound Bus Lines terminal, for pickup, just as we used to pick up packages at the old catalog stores. Insurance and tracking are included in this price.

We quote least expensive means of shipping first; additional services available, including home delivery to most locales for an additional $30-40 or so, depending on distance from terminal.

Oh sigh ~ aren't shipping costs just too distressing? But . . . we figure if you consider the costs of the on-the-ground treasure hunt: gas (Heaven help us, it is now over $2.95 per gallon!), time spent roaming one store after another in search of the beloved object, taxes, and the like, that the costs are about the same, or more, as shopping on eBay. And we get to do that with a cup of creamy coffee in one hand, with the monks chanting away on the stereo, with the scented candle burning on the desk, with rose terry slippers on our feet. We are most enchanted with our little cottage and hate to leave it. Shopping at home is a thrill which does not wane.
