Photographed in lovely color, these baskets, made in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, represent an elusive and rare collection of art glass baskets. Although the makers remain anonymous, these objects “were never mass-produced. Each was a creation in itself, with each glassmaker reaching into the backroads of his imagination to add that certain something which no other basket produced.” Pictured in color are examples of colored and opaque glass, spangle and spatter glass, satin and MOP glass, rubina and amberina glass, and many other glass types. This hard-to-find book is a collector’s item in itself and would make a fine addition to an art glass collection.
