A small pitcher 2 1/2" high.  It shows the park and fountain of CITY HALL PARK in BURLINGTON, VERMONT.

  • Pitcher reads:  "CITY HALL PARK, BURLINGTON, VT."

  • Maker's Mark on underneath:  "MADE IN GERMANY / C. G. PETERSON / BURLINGTON, VT."

  • Condition:  Sparkling clean, near mint condition. No chips, cracks or hairlines..  Shows a little wear on the gold gilt rim otherwise just excellent!

  • Age  An antique pitcher ca. late 1800's - early 1900's.

  • Shipping: Buyer pays $5.01 S/H which includes domestic insurance ~ more if international ~ We ship every Wednesday. So if you pay with PayPal by Tuesday evening, we will ship your item Wednesday. Burlington's CITY HALL PARK is still an important part of Burlington, Vermont, having just undergone a recent restoration.   The 'C.G. PETERSON' whose name is on the bottom of this pitcher, was probably an early-day merchant and this pitcher was probably given away by him for the grand opening of his business or some other special event.   A Burlington historian and/or the Polk City Directories from 1880's - early 1900's would tell what the business was and what dates that he was in business for.   The base also mentions that this item was made in Germany, this is one of the marks that antique dealers look for to authenticate such an item as a genuine antique.   Not many of these fragile old souvenirs survived the elements of time, this one is quite possibly a one-of-a-kind.  Not only a beautiful antique souvenir cup, but also a historically valuable piece, check it out!
