Here is a delightful Limoges 5-piece lunch set: tea cup and saucer, bread, desert and lunch plates, from the Bawo & Dotter Pottery. These antique white porcelain pieces are adorned by delicate pink flowers, green leaves and sprayed on gold trim. Cup has an elegant twisted loop handle. It stands about 2" and is about 3-5/8" across. Saucer is about 4-1/2" in diameter. Bread plate is 6-3/8" across. Dessert plate is 7-1/2" diameter. Lunch plate is 8-3/4" across.
Double marked: Mark 9a in Mark Frank Gaston's COLLECTOR'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF LIMOGES PORCELAIN, 3rd edition, page 33, “ELITE WORKS" over shield with three fleur de lis, "S", head of an elderly man, "M" over "LIMOGES FRANCE” in red; and "ELITE" underlined of "L" "FRANCE". Marks indicate pieces were manufactured from 1900-1914.
These are in first quality like new condition, no chips, cracks or crazing, virtually no wear. FYI: Replacements.com identifies this pattern as BWD481 but they have no pieces for sale.
