Antique 'Benedict' Billiards Victorian Pool Table

This is one of the rarest tables ever produced and one of the most beautiful, as well. The table was manufactured in about 1890 by a company in upstate New York called the 'Benedict Billiard Mfg Co'. They went out of business after the turn of the century and I don't know a lot about the company except their tables are considered some of the finest ever made. I only know of 1 other table like this ever having been sold and it was sold by a fellow billiards guy from Kansas and the price was more than $30,000. The carving on this table is exquisite and all hand done, of course. The primary wood is walnut with panels of burl walnut and rail blinds of what I believe is 'Tiger' walnut. The rail tops are Brazilian rosewood and the pockets are the #6 style, which suggests it may have been a carom table at one time. Real and original ivory diamond rail sights and the nameplate is not original but a brass replica of the Benedict label. Slates are 1 inch and 4 pieces. The legs are magnificently carved as well as many carved features throughout the cabinet. I could have the pockets custom designed from the original irons as the pockets shown are not the original but props for the photos. You will never find a table like this anywhere except by pure magic. May be 1 of less than a half dozen or less in existance.
