For your consideration an antique Zenith Model 6-S-229 tombstone table top radio.  Fresh from a local estate.  The radio is in great condition.  I plugged it in to test it and the tubes and dial lit up.  The speaker made good sound but all I could get was static.  All of the knobs turn.  When I turn the tuner knob the dial does not turn with it.  I am not sure if the inside needs lubricated or if there is a belt off.  The dial and dial glass are in great condition.  All of the knobs are marked with a Z.  The grill is good but the grill cloth has some damage.  The finish on the case is very nice and looks to be all original.  There is some minor flaking.  The wood on the case is in great condition with no veneer damage or separations.  There are some very tiny veneer chips on the back edge.  The chassis is complete and in good condition with no rust.  The speaker is also in good shape with no holes or tears.  The back of the chassis is marked MODEL 6-S-229  The Zenith paper label on the bottom is also marked MODEL 6S229   The radio measures 17 3/4" in height by 13 1/4" in width by 10" in depth counting the knobs.  I looked this model up and it dates to 1937.  I am sure you radio guys out there could have this one working like new in no time at all.  An excellent addition to any vintage radio collection or if you just want to own a neat old Zenith radio.
