  Hello,  for your consideration is this beautiful, rare,  antique burl wood mallet or masher. I hate to say but I am not sure if this was intended to be used as a masher or a mallet, also to my embarrassment I am not positive what kind of burled wood it was created from, but I am leaning towards maple. The approx dimensions are 12" tall, the grip at it's widest is 1 1/2" in diameter (the thick grip makes me think mallet), the head at it's widest is 4 1/2" in diameter, and it weights just over 1 1/2 pounds. This great old piece has a few age splits and I believe the handle has a slight warp, but it is very solid and usable if you so choose. I have several pictures below so please enjoy the beauty and quality of this fine piece of American history and craftsmanship.
