 Good day; for your consideration is this rare, antique, U. S. Standard cast iron 50 pound scale weight (as is about 48.5 pounds). Weights such as these were used as counterweights for large balance scales, and also more commonly used for the calibrating of  large scales. This old cast iron gem has some nick and bumps, along with some rough casting marks but has no other damage or repairs and is very solid. It is approx. 5" high, 6" wide, and 9" long, according to my scale it would need about 1-1 1/2 pounds of lead added to the compensating holes if you wanted it to be exactly 50 pounds. These holes and remnants of what I assume to be deteriorating lead can be seen in the pictures below. This item ships to United States only, and is also available for local pick up.
