This is an unusual, very old cast Iron trivet. The shape is roughly that of a heart - to accomodate a flat iron. Just below the top of the heart is the date: 1812. Below that is what appears to be some sort of boat. It could be a monitor, altho those were from much later in the 19th century, or possibly a canal boat. At the point of the heart is a large letter "P." The trivet has 3 short legs. 8 3/8" long X 5 1/8" across. Some surface rust, but not bad. Shipping: $8.00 via DHL Ground.
