Introducing Baby Doll of the Week # 3:  Compo baby Doll

 Fabulous Antique baby doll is a full 11 inches long, almost the same size as a tiny tears doll only a tad wider.  She has light  & dark  brown curly hair. Ears are close to the head and seem perfect . Skin coloring is great .Her eyes are hand painted on and they are a dark brown the same color as the hair. little  diamond shape white areas make up the pupil. The eyes are outline in a light brown paint. Eye brows art artfull etched with the lighter brown color. Nose has a lttle pudgy look, just so darling . Facial coloring  is great with a touch of blush still lingering after all these years.   She has 10  perfect fingers and 10 perfect toes.   She is assembled  so that the limbs are jointed and are movable. She is tightly strung her limbs are strongly attached yet move well in all directions.   It is such a nice antique. Now for the interesting part of this doll with no obvious flaws this doll was once years ago turned into a (maybe the first ) drink & wet. There is a hole in the lower lip area it looks like it was drilled into the doll with some type of tool someone took time doing this it. The job is a masterpiece . On the buttox is another hole . Is this the first attempt at a drink & wet doll or did the doll belong to a child in the 50's and someone who loved her work so hard to make her a drink and wet doll ? I just love to think of the possible stories. Outfit is clean and crisp doll is in very good condition yes the parakeet can come too !
