For your consideration is an Antique Cornet pat'd 19,1901. I know very little about Musical Instruments but was able to discern some of the information that I'm about to provide from engravings on the Cornet. The most visible writing/engraving that can be seen on the Cornet is inscribed within the trade mark which states Buescher Mfg Co. True-Tone, Elkhardt, IN. On the bottom of the cornet it has the number 2370 and is inscribed pat'd mch 19,1901 which would likely be conjunction with a pat'd date of 1878. Finally, and probably produced somewhat later is the mouth piece which is also a 'Wonder Model' 19 and stamped Conn.
In accompaniment with the Cornet are 2 antique sheet music books. These look to have been put together by pasting individual pieces of music on to the leaflets within the hand bound book. Within the black bound booklet is a picture of a gentleman with the words "Fales Folio". The book was patent under no. 359, 141 which is about the year 1888. The second booklet consists of Cornet Solo sheet music as well, but no indicators as to patent dates etc...
I don't know how to describe the condition of the cornet, as My opinion is completely subjective, but if you have questions I'll do my best to answer them based on the information I have available. I hope the pictures will give you a good indication of condition. There are at least two portions on the cornet where I see tape was applied at some point. There are not major dings or dents, but some obvious ware. It has a natural patina and looks like it's probably made of nickel silver, though I could be way off. Again this is completely subjective, but I think the instrument is in good overall condition considering it's age. It also has the original instrument carrier which is falling apart and flaking on the exterior. It is not in good condition. I hope collectors will find this an interesting and collectible instrument.

On May-05-08 at 18:04:15 PDT, seller added the following information:According to a one of our fellow eBayer's the number 19, 1901 refers to the date March 19th, 1901 not 1878. "According to the
Buescher serial number chart, serial numbers up to 5000 were made by
1905". My thanks goes out to the community for clarifying this information.
