Item specifics
Type: ClocksPrimary Material: Wood Case, Brass Works
Age: 1850-1899Original/Reproduction: Original

Here's a very nice old or antique shelf or mantle clock we received recently from an older home here in New Hampshire. This one is probably from the late 1800's to very early 1900's. It was made by the E. Ingraham Clock Co. of Bristol, Connecticutt. The clock has some surface decorative carving on the front of the case, there are 4 pillars made of some type of celluloid type material meant to look like marble or similar. The frontal appearance and sides are very nice. The top shows some signs of aging and was somewhat dirty when we received the clock. Corner points of the top show a little wearing to the finish. The clock runs well and kept good time in our trial. The key and pendulum appear to be original to the clock. Face seems to be enamel on tin, not paper. On the back of the clock there are small remants of the paper label as we show in a picture. We think the model name of this clock was "ANCHOR". Legs and side decoratives seem very good. The clock counts out the hour and there is a bell sound that tones once at the half hour. About the only issue to note is with the tin cover that goes over the access hole at the back of the clock. The hinge on this has let go. However because of a little hook to the hinge metal the rear access cover can be set in place and latched securely even though the hinge has not been repaired. So could be left as is dependant on the buyer's choice. Nice overall appearance and condition, could use a little light cleaning to look it's best. The clock is about 17 inches long, 11 inches tall and 7 inches deep measured at the decorative feet. That's about it.  The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this old or antique E. Ingraham clock low so enjoy the auction. When packed this will weigh about 13.5 lbs. so we'll use USPS Parcel Post service as the lowest cost postal alternative to the buyer. We have no packing or handling charge. Extra cost USPS postal services like Postal Insurance, Tracking, or Upgraded postal services are easily available should the winning bidder wish to make arrangements following the completion of the auction. This item is for sale within the US only, no exceptions. Please let us know if there are any questions prior to the end of the auction. We will cooperate with winners of more than one auction to combine items whenever practical. Thank you for your interest and Good Luck!
