 1800s ORNATE~Carved Dogs Hens Figures~SOLID OAK~HEAVY

Just arrived from England, a  stunning, solid oak carved pediment or wall hanging from a north London estate that included many fabulous finds~

The carving is heavy, thick and massive, with carvings everywhere…the center crown has what appears to be a hen-on-nest, flanked on either side by running dogs(?) with a center recessed carved panel featuring a woman!  The back shows old (1800s) pegs and nails and the bottom reveals a few holes meaning this was probably the top to a fabulous antique English hunt board.

It has the original finish, darkened over the 100+ years and creating a fabulous aged patina.

Of course it would be a stunning wall hanging, as a focal point in any room, with the addition of some hangers.

19 ¾”H x 45” x 1 ½”.
