Antique English Carved Oak Wall Hanging Pediment Crown
Just arrived from England, a stunning, solid oak carved pediment or wall hanging from a north London estate that included many fabulous finds, including several other carved treasures!!
This carved crown has ornate, open carved figures and foliage, with its original finish, darkened over the 100+ years and creating a fabulous aged patina. Given the style and craftsmanship, I believe it was originally the crown for an antique English or French huntboard.
Of course it would be a stunning wall hanging, over a painting or doorway, and certainly as a focal point in any room, with the addition of some hangers.
Measurements:
9 ¼”H x 29” x 2”;
1” wide base.
All of my antiques are hand selected from premier European shippers. I do not purchase in bulk, but prefer to individually purchase items, with each piece selected for its unique characteristics and quality.
Condition:
The carving is in good condition for its age with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections that can be expected in a piece over a century old. I always provide multiple photos that should be considered as part of the description and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to bidding. Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character….NOT for like-new condition!!!
