Just arrived from England and another special treasure….a VERY LARGE antique English MAHOGANY bench/ottoman/COFFEE TABLE!!

 

~SOLID MAHOGANY construction, HEAVY and BUILT TO LAST FOR GENERATIONS~

~ELEGANT BARLEY TWIST LEGS AND BARLEY TWIST ‘X’ STRETCHER…found only in the finest quality antique furniture as they reflect the craftsman’s commitment to excellence.  ‘X’ or cross-stretchers provide the most stability and support for any piece of furniture and create a stunning profile fitting for a palace!!~

~Handwork is lovely and expertly done.....with traditional colours in the floral motif on a muted gold background featuring shades of blue, reds, green/sage and various stitches...coloring is more vivid than shown in photos!!~

 

This large size makes this ottoman/bench versatile enough for use as a coffee table!!  That’s right, decorators are using this style for Coffee Tables that REALLY MAKES A STATEMENT and provides a unique touch for any room!!

Condition:

The bench is in good condition for its age, sturdy and strong, with normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches and other imperfection.  The hand stitched needlework is quite old (c1930) but the frame is clearly even older(c1880)…see the tiny points where nails once attached the original upholstery.   It is elegant and quite fabulous as presented, suitable for immediate use in your home!   I always provide multiple photos that should be considered as part of the description and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to bidding.   Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character….NOT for like-new condition!!!

Professional packaging, shipping and insurance on this item will be $65.00. (Lower 48 states only). All my antique furniture is professionally packaged for shipment by UPS, fully insured and delivered directly to your front door!  I DO NOT use discount shippers!!!
