VERY RARE Design, SOLID OAK, Almost 5 FEET, c1900

Direct from England, one of the most unique antique barley twist tables that I’ve ever seen!  I truly look at thousands of antique English tables each year and so very seldom do I find one like this!!

It’s obviously a ‘draw leaf’ design, which is a wildly popular table today, perfect in a kitchen or dining room, excellent in a library or as a “working table” with a desk…equally wonderful for a game table BUT THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT THAN ALL THE REST~~

~BOTH the solid oak plank and panel tops OPEN OUT to reveal the interior,  HUGE TABLE SURFACE…which is an unfinished bakers table, originally created for rolling dough and making breads, etc….~

~In today’s home, it’s an awesome LARGE WORKSPACE FOR DINING, CRAFTS, OFFICE~

~FAT, CLASSIC ENGLISH BARLEY TWIST LEGS…are removable~

~FABULOUS DARK RICH FINISH and lovely AGED PATINA~

~Construction is superb quality, SOLID OAK,  THICK PLANK & PANEL TOP~

~Original label on the interior (can’t quite read it but see photos!)~

Measurements:

29 ½”H x 34 ½” x 29 ¼” with leaves folded in;

Both leaves out, LARGE SIZE ALMOST FIVE FEET, 58 ½” x 34 ½”;

LARGE TURNED LEGS ARE SOLID OAK, Lower Blocks,  appx. 3” x 3”.

Condition:

The table is in good condition for its age, with normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches, and other imperfections. There are small  remnants of original paper instructions on the bakers area where flour and dough were prepared…the interior also has a bakers patina from years of flour that is wonderful!! Some dents, dings, various ink marks, etc, as to be expected.   There were two long screws that would make the top stationary on the base and buyer will need to add these if so desired…..most people never bother, but mentioned here for disclosure!!   I always provide multiple photos that should be considered as part of the description and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to bidding.
