Direct from England, this listing is for a wonderful antique barley twist piece, with classic Jacobean style that includes the large oak button trim, carved applied trim and stately barley twist posts with large round finials on either side of the arched crown piece!!

The tapestry scene is a beautiful English country scene featuring two children with their attentive black dog and cows grazing in the distance!!

Certainly this would be a grand wall accent in any room, perfectly complimenting any décor, from traditional to Arts & Crafts, Tudor to classic English or French Country!!!

I believe this was originally a fireplace screen and somewhere along the way the bracket feet were taken off.  To use as a wall hanging, buyer will need to add some hanging hooks and picture wire…it is shown leaning against the stucco wall, as it could also be displayed in the same manner on a mantel or shelf in your home~~

MEASUREMENTS:

27 ¾”H x 27 ¾” x 1 ¼”.

CONDITION:

  The tapestry and frame is in good condition, structurally sound and visually appealing with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections.  The back behind the tapestry is wood; see comments above about the original condition and note the photos; lower bottom finials show where bracket feet were attached at one time.…As noted above, buyer will need to add hangers if you wish to hang it on the wall.  I always provide multiple photos and written information, and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to bidding.
