Direct from ENGLAND, this listing is for a simply captivating antique music cabinet, an extremely hard-to-find piece in today’s market!!  The style, of course, is venerable English, with features galore:

·        Jacobean style, with  TIGER OAK GRAIN and large beaded trim on the drawers and cabinet sides (incredibly lovely and amazingly all intact);

·        Elegant bobbin turned legs provide gracefulness and exhibit quality construction by craftsmen of the era;

·        FOUR Original drop front drawers, in excellent working order, provided access to sheet music or gramophone records!  You simply open the drawer with the original brass teardrop pulls, and the drawer front flips down and the drawer slides out to provide easy access to the contents;

·        Lovely scalloped lower trim and a generous sized lower shelf for additional storage or display;

·        Rich oak grain and a superb aged patina.

Of course in today’s home this chest would be perfectly suited for so very many uses, from music to lingerie to office paperwork…………or one could simply use it as an end table or focus piece anywhere in the home or office.  I don’t believe I can take this highly unusual and quite beautiful piece to the antique store, I’m going to have a home for it in my den until it’s purchased and ready for a new home somewhere!

37”H x 20” x 14 ¾”;

Drawer interior, 15 ½” width x 11 ½” depth.

CONDITION:

  The cabinet is in good condition, structurally sound and visually appealing with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections. There is one slight separation on the left side, not unusual as wood tends to shrink over the years and these separations occur in most pieces.  The cabinet top has some color variation and spotting….again, as to be expected with an antique!!  I always provide multiple photos and written information, and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to bidding. Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character.
