~TIGER OAK~TALL~SIX PIECE STACKING BOOKCASE~

Just arrived from England, a superb antique English oak “barrister” or stacking bookcase with stunning LEADED GLASS DOORS on all the cabinets!

VERY VERY seldom can I find these true English barrister stacking bookcases, and VERY RARELY with leaded glass… and this one is gorgeous… the condition is wonderful…the height is majestic….the quality craftsmanship from long ago…..

~VERY TALL size, with SIX separate pieces~

~LEADED GLASS DOORS (all original antique ENGLISH LEADED GLASS, leaded on both sides!)~

~TOP is solid TIGER oak with curved ogee crown and gallery back~

~BASE is solid TIGER oak with QUEEN ANNE feet and ogee base~

~FOUR CASES each have LEADED GLASS doors~

THE LEADED GLASS DOORS UNHOOK and lift off; this makes the cabinets completely capable of disassembly, which is very convenient when changing out the size, adding or removing cabinets.

~THE ORIGINAL ANTIQUE ENGLISH BOOKCASE FORM…THESE CASES DO NOT LOCK TOGETHER, THEY STACK!!~ 

~The doors, base, top and sides are SOLID OAK with a lovely quarter sawn, TIGER OAK grain~

MEASUREMENTS:

63 ½”H x 35 ½” x 15”;

The INTERIOR CABINET MEASUREMENTS for the top 3 cases, 9 ¼”H x 32 ½” x 10 ½” (the height is the clearance with the door opened and up);

The INTERIOR LOWER CABINET, 11”H x 32 ½’ x 10 ½” (the height is the clearance with the door opened and up).

All of my antiques are hand selected from premier European shippers.  I do not purchase in bulk, but prefer to individually purchase the items, with each piece selected for its unique characteristics and quality.

CONDITION:

This beautiful bookcase is a lovely piece, sturdy and strong and in BETTERN THAN AVERAGE condition for its age, with LESS THAN normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches and other imperfections.  ….of course the interior has scratches and mars from books sliding in and out over the years…..an expected level of wear.

NOTE the cabinets do not lock, they STACK on each other, and are easily disassembled into pieces for shipping or changing the configuration to more or less cabinets.

The leaded glass doors DO NOT have any cracks and the glass is clear!!
