Direct from England, a unique and stunning plaster or chalk ware hunting fox.

The statue still has vivid colors, from the fox’s coat and face, to the green terrain upon which he stands.  The details in the painting are quite distinct and the form is very well defined with wonderful distinct details in the shaping, including the separate leg and the elongated facial features.  I believe the eyes are glass, as they are definitely not part of the chalk.

I purchased this fox from one of my favorite English shippers --- I’ve actually enjoyed him in my office for several months pending taking his photo for listings!!  All of my antiques are hand selected, utilizing premier European shippers with years of experience.  I do not purchase in bulk, but prefer to individually purchase the items, with each piece selected for its unique characteristics and quality.

Appx. 9 ½”H x 23” x 7 ½”.

Condition:

The fox is in good condition for a chalk/plaster statue that I decades old, with what I consider normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings and other imperfections.  There are expected dings, dents and chips, but the statue is intact, and the fox amazingly has all its legs, ears, nose, tail, etc……too often these delicate statues loose significant parts over the years. 

Obviously, this piece is only for those that understand the nature of chalk/plaster and appreciate the aged patina and beauty.
