James Garfield was president of the United States when this Bible was published.

Brilliant gold gilt on edges of pages.  1278 pages.  4 1/4" wide x 6".  2 1/2" thick.  The pages have yellowed with spots and stains.  But no rips or tears.  Spine is still tight, and I can only find a couple of tiny pencil handwritten notations.  Purchased at an estate sale, velvet over leather cover.  The inscription page has come loose from the rest of the Bible.
