This is a beautiful silver plated St. Anthony medal. Lovely figural design, still on the original card and never worn. See grid photo for size. You run across vintage items like this pretty regular, but finding a pin this old still on the card, is rare indeed. St. Anthony is the patron of the poor, of travelers, and of lost items. My favorite St. Anthony story, recalls a time when St. Anthony was trying to preach to a crowd of boisterous people by a lake. While St. Anthony tried to keep their attention in vain, they continued to enjoy the day and the company, having a wonderful time, while he preached away to no avail. Turning to the lake, he suddenly began preaching to the fish. Forgetting all about the human audience, he turned his attention to the finned audience, generally considered to be less attentive than humans. Witnesses said that the fish lined up, big ones in the back, little ones in the front and listened attentively until he was done. The whole town was converted on the spot. I guess so. It is not fitting, when one is in God's service, to have a gloomy face or a chilling look.- St. Francis of Assisi

I am Sister Luke Panteleimon of the Cloistered Heart Myrrhbearers, an Ecumenical order. I am a Religious Sister, I live and work in the world, as opposed to a Nun who lives in Cloister, though the word Nun is loosely used to refer to both. As with Cloistered Sisters, our first Call is to Minister to God through worship and prayer. I am a Lay Eucharistic Minister, and I Minister to folks confined to their homes and nursing facilities, although lately I have been called more and more to work with and support ministries to the homeless. I am also a member of the Order of St. Luke, an Ecumenical healing order. I am disabled with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis, with many associated complications, so sometimes get a little behind on emails, or make errors in listings, so I thank you for your patience with me. I beg your prayers for my health and ministry. Check out my About Me page if you would like to see a picture. If you or one of your loved ones needs prayer, drop me a line.
Please contact us through the ebay messaging system for everyone's protection, and to avoid spam filter larceny. It is the best way that I know of to protect every one from fraud. Using an active listing seems to prevent the "lost message" syndrome some. Please let's all work together to make ebay a safe place to trade.
