Original First Church of Springfield MA HUGE 1869 post civil war bible. (The Church name is engraved for 1871, however the dating is 1869 according to the interior markings). This was the bible used by the priests for services. It was purchased at the contents auction. Interior pages feature large type. Leather exterior. Condition overall is very good. 15 1/2" long & 12 1/2" wide. 3 3/4" thick. There is some scuffing to the exterior, most pronounced on back cover. Interior pages are clean and remain bound although the binding of the interior pages near the back forth of book are starting to seperate (please see photo), and there is a slight wiggle to exterior spine. Overall, great. A very special bible. Lovely!
