Antique French Breton Carved Walnut Wall Pediment Crown

Just arrived from France, a stunning, solid carved pediment or wall hanging!

~SOLID WALNUT with exquisite French carved design~

~BRETON design with open carvings, spindles and trim~

~Pastoral scene of man in the field with his dog and a lovely chapel in the background~
~ CIRCA 1880, with original finish and a fabulous aged patina.

Of course it would be a stunning wall hanging, over a painting or doorway, and certainly as a focal point in any room, with the addition of some hangers.

~The wood pegs on the underneath side would probably be removed by the buyer. The two pegs below the bottom molding are where the carving fits into its original place…the headboard of a large antique French bed…..I am selling the bed in my antique store, either with or without this carving….whichever sells first!!!!!!!!!!!!

The carving is in good condition for its age with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections that can be expected in a piece over a century old. Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character….NOT for like-new condition!!!
