Antique French Bronze Marble Louis XVI Portico Clock

Description of item for sale:

This antique marble clock with bronze fittings is from France and it dates to the early 1900’s.  This clock is in excellent antique condition with no damage of any significance.  The beautiful striated cream colored marble is free of chips, cracks or discolorations except for a few very small chips along the front edge of the base.  All of the bronzework is also in very excellent antique condition with a beautiful patina of age.  The eight day clockworks have a mark showing a medialle ‘d or (gold medal) from 1900. They show no maker's mark but are made in the fine French tradition a la Japy Freres.  The clock runs well and keeps excellent time.    The clock strikes once on the half-hour and tolls out the hours on a nice sounding nickel bell.  Dimensions: 15½“ tall, 9” wide, 5” deep.  Please be sure to check at the bottom of this listing to see if any corrections or answers to questions have been posted.
