Antique French Carved Prie Dieu Church Prayer Chair

Direct from France, a charming prayer chair….one of two I have available!! They were part of a group from a French church that my shipper selected, along with some other lovely pieces I will be listing shortly!

The chair is solid and sturdy, with a seat that folds up, converting it into a prayer chair…..the details are lovely, with carved details on the seat back, scalloped, beveled edges below the arm rest and Bible or prayer book storage on the lower portion!!

Measurements:

33”H x 21” x 18 ½”;

Seat, 14 ½” x 15 ½”;

Open seat height, floor to seat, 17".

 

As many of you know, all of my antiques are hand selected from premier European shippers.  I do not purchase in bulk, but prefer to individually purchase the items, with each piece selected for its unique characteristics and quality.

 

CONDITION:

The chair is in good condition for its age, with age appropriate signs of age and use, dings, scratches and other imperfections. 

The kneeler and arm rest are covered with a leather type original upholstery that are quite worn from years of use…buyer may want to update with a fabric that matches their décor.   I always provide multiple photos and written information. I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to bidding.

 

SHIPPING:

Professional packaging, shipping and insurance on this item will be $75.00 (Lower 48 states only).   All my antique furniture is professionally packaged for shipment by UPS, fully insured and shipped curbside to your home!!!

I DO NOT USE DISCOUNT SHIPPERS or terminal to terminal, due to their high rate of damage!
