Beautiful white marble and gilt ormalou French lyre clock retailed by the famous Spaulding & Co. Gold and Silver Smiths of Chicago and Paris (see photo of their 1893 magazine advertisement below). The exceptional work of art is crowned by "golden" gilt sun in homage to the Sun King, Louis XIV. The clock is in excellent working order and in great condition.  The impeccable French movement keeps good time.  It of course has the unmistakable beautiful tone of its fine French silver bell.  Note the unique fine design which includes a special pendulum that is attached to ring of brilliants circling the clock rocking back and forth. Similar clocks are selling for $60,000 - $70,000.  This is your chance to take advantage of an opportunity to own a special piece at a great value.  Circa 1890. h. 26 1/2" w. 10" d. 6".
