Antique French Porcelain Cream Jug Sugar Box Bowl

RARE. Circa 1850.

Dimensions:

Creamer  - OH: 6-3/4”, OL: 5”, OD: 4-1/4”

Sugar Box – OH: 8” (w/lid), OL: 6-1/2”, OD: 5-3/4”

Description:
Heavy white porcelain with heavy gold accents.

Baroque octagon form, with in-the-mould paneling and handles terminating in acanthus leaves at the top and grape leaves and grape clusters at the bottom; a vine winding around the handle connecting the two.

The creamer has several heavy gold stripes girdling the  center, accenting the rim and base and on the handle including outlining and detailing the leaves thereon.

The Sugar box has heavy gold detailing on the rim and base and on the handles . the lid is accented at the rim and verge of the heavy paneling and on the fruit and leaves finial.

Condition:

No damage noted; appx 50% wear-through of the gold detailing.

This set is so rare it is classed as overall EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Marked:

Raised in-the-mould panel on bottom of sugar box with incised: “HG”, and incised “363” on both pieces.
