French doll "Limoges" france 3,

*similar to a Bleuette doll*

with head of porcelain and body of composition, measures 12 inches,

has blue eyes of paperweight, four teeth and perforated ears,

the wig and the dress are originals of the doll.

 

The Limoge mark was mainly used by A. Lanternier and Company who were located in Limoge, France. Usually they are marked with an anchor and AL. Another maker used Limoge as a mark, and the initials JB--I don't know who the JB initials were for, but no doubt another maker in Lomoge, France. I think this JB is the maker of your doll because of how the eyelashes and mouth are painted--they are like the "Limoge" doll in my book on French dolls, who was made by JB. The doll in my book is also marked 3.
