This chest offers plenty of storage space. Even the sides look great! Shown here is the back.
The grooved banding, distinctive of the early Edwardian period, complements other details quite well. The mahogany has developed a rich patina. These pulls contrast beautifully with the mahogany.
Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails. The plinth base is as sturdy as it is elegant.
     This gorgeous Edwardian antique chest of drawers was hand-crafted in England around 1901. It features three large and two small drawers; hand-cut dovetailed drawer joints; solid copper pulls and backplates; brass escutcheons (but no key); a plinth base; grooved banding; and a fantastic patina, which really complements the beautiful mahogany grain. There is plenty of storage space, and despite two discreet age splits on the sides--a purely cosmetic phenomenon--the chest is in excellent condition. Since the design is simple and attractive, matching with other items would be an easy task. This piece would make a fine addition to any home!
