Antique Green Calabash Flask,Eagle with Banner, McK # GII-143

We offer for auction an antique blown glass calabash flask, Eagle with Banner (aka Flying Eagle) McKearin # GII-143. This quart size mold blown bottle has an iron pontil scar and an applied sloping collar. The color is a deep green. Our photos show it from a light to a dark to a grey green depending on the light

This bottle, circa 1850, measures 9 1/2 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches at its widest and about 4 inches from front to back.

This calabash bottle mold is identical to the Sheath of Wheat flask made by the Kensington Glass works of Philadelphia. ( Note that we are offering that bottle for auction concurrently with this one ). These two flasks came from the same Connecticut family where they have been together for at least the past one hundred years.

This flask is in excellent condition.  The scattered black ash flakes add to the overall beauty of the vivid color and bold design.  Please see our photos.
