Here we have a Large Serving Platter in the Borgia pattern by Hammersley, England. The border design appears to be clearly inspired by earlier porcelain patterns made for King Louis Phillippe of France. Each of his various chateau's featured their own unique pattern themes and were produced by the Sevres Porcelain Company in the mid 1800's. This heavy porcelain platter features similar acantus scrolls and wild animals (boars and deer) decorating the border in a rich red backround with black and white accents and gold "luster" trim and accent band. It measures 19 3/4" long, 15 3/4" wide and is in good condition. It features appropriate wear from use and age. This is a gorgeous piece and is sure to "WOW" your holiday guests.
