A reserve price is the minimum price the seller will accept. This price is hidden from bidders. To win, a bidder must have the highest bid and have met or exceeded the reserve price.
Here is a nice old Ingraham 8 day mantle clock, made in Bristol, Connecticut during the late 1800's. The last patent date on it is 1888. During this period, patent dates changed rapidly as clock makers added new features, so it is safe to date this one around 1890. It has the original movement that is running and gonging properly.
The case is solid with the original finish, which has some minor scrapes and handling marks here and there. It has the usual lions heads and claw feet, along with nicely wallpapered columns and trim, all original. The measurements are 17" long x 11" high x 7 ½" deep.
The original dial and brass bezel assembly is a beauty. It is in great condition with the exception that someone wrote a date between the 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock area, which you can see in the picture of the dial.
Notice the original label still on the back. It is complete with a key and pendulum.
If your payment needs to be delayed, that will be fine as long as you stay in close contact with us, and send it when you say you're going to.
Most items will be shipped within 5 business days of received payment. All items are carefully packaged with around 2" of packing material between your purchase and the box. Insurance is strongly recommended as we naturally can accept no responsibility for loss or damage once a package is in the hands of the carrier. Insurance up to $100.00 is included with UPS, but all USPS insurance is extra. Normally, all shipping costs are based on actual price for estimated weight plus a minimal fee for packaging material. In rare instances there may be a flat rate shipping price quoted. Smaller items can be combined to save shipping costs.
All sales are final, (with the exception noted below). We try to keep an excellent feedback rating by being fair and honest. We try to describe all items accurately so that you pretty much know exactly what to expect when your purchase arrives. It should be understood before bidding that all antique clocks, unless otherwise noted, have knicks, scratches, tarnished brass, stains and dents which are normally aquired from long term honest use. It is nearly impossible to find one in "mint" condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is sold as "in running condition", it means that we have test ran it before listing it and feel confident that it will run for you. If a clock is running properly when it arrives,... thats about the best we can do. We cannot guarantee that a clock will not break down, but will not sell anything that we expect to break down without noting that it is being sold as parts or for restoration. In the event that you are not happy, please first go back and read the description to make sure that the item was not misrepresented, and then email us. If we missed seeing some hidden damage, we will refund your money, both purchase price and shipping both ways. ***This does NOT include items sold as parts or not working***(Who knows what might be wrong with things like that)...if it says "as is" it's probably gonna need work.
My daughter and I spend quite a bit of time during the summer months traveling around the northeast buying clocks and clock parts. Many times we are able to buy large quantities from clock makers who are downsizing, or closing out altogether. During the winter months we homeschool, and when there is time, we work together listing things on Ebay.
****We believe that feedback should represent the entire transaction, which would include how we handle any problems that might arise. It doesn't make much sense to trade negative feedbacks if we make a mistake and then aren't given the chance to make it right.
We do not use our computers on Sunday, the Lord's day, but will answer any emails Monday through Saturday and do whatever we can to resolve any problems. Please do not wait until late in an auction to ask questions. (We may not be here)****Please also do not ask us to divulge the reserve price in a reserve auction; to end an auction early for any reason; or to falsify shipping records.
Please follow Ebay payment instructions. Also, as a precaution, please let us know by seperate email which method of shipping you chose, and if you wanted insurance coverage.
Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing.
