Up for your consideration is a vintage Japanese abacus.   This great old collectable is in excellent condition for it's age.

 All measurements are approximate:   The abacus measures 13" long and is 4 1/4" wide.   It is 1 1/2" deep.   It has 15 rows of beads.   Each row has 5 beads in the bottom section and 1 bead in the top section.   There are Japanese symbols on the back and above each row of beads.  (see pictures)   I have no idea what they say or stand for.   If any one has any idea please let me know.   This is the first abacus that I have seen.   I can not believe the condition.   A collector dated this piece back to the middle 1800's.   Thank you for your interest and good luck.
