Antique Large 15" Tailor's Shears Marked R. Heinsch






You are bidding on an rare antique tailor's shears marked on the brass hinge R. Heinisch Inventor Newark, NJ.

This is a very large shears measuring about 15" long overall with the blade measurng about 8" long. Very heavy weighing about 3 1/2 pounds.

I cut a piece of paper easily. I tried cutting a piece of material and they seem to cut fine near the hinge to about half way out on the blade but then loose cuting strenght. Will need to be sharpened. 

The black paint on the handles is mostly worn away. There is overall light surface rust but no pitting.  

I believe this unusual shears date to the late 1800's as my research on Heinisch shows that he died in 1874.

Again I will do my best to describe any strong offensive smells that I detect if any.
