A fine, hand-colored map from Tanner's Universal Atlas

Provenance New Universal Atlas, by Henry S. Tanner.
Publisher Philadelphia:  H.S. Tanner, 1836.  This is an original map. It is 172 years old.

The map is printed on very heavy paper. It is intrimmed, showling clear evidence of having been once attached to it's original atlas. It is, of course, printed on one side only.

Condition Very good. There are somed spots and marks in the margins, but the map itself is clean. See the scanned images below.
Remarks

This is an impressive map that will frame very nicely.

A search of the internet has revealed that the least expensive example of the atlas from which this map comes is priced at just under $10,000. The individual maps range from $100 to $600.

Note that these maps had to be scanned in two parts and the reassembled in Photoshop to obtain an image of the whole map. In some of the images, the point at which the two parts were joined is visible. This, obviously, appears only on the scanned image and not on the map itself.
