Antique Mary Gregory Cranberry Cased Crystal Vase |
Description:
A large, antique and really beautiful cranberry cased crystal Mary Gregory type hand painted vase, which I would guess to be from the mid to late 1800's. Cylinder-shaped, with a rounded, smooth exterior and subtle, decagon (10 sided) shaped interior. Cranberry cased in clear crystal: crystal is thick (about 1/4"), but the casing isn't readily obvious until you look at the foot which has been patterned with the cased cranberry in a beautiful 'undulating' pattern all around. Mary Gregory type hand painted pattern all around, mainly in white, but with some shots of color (orange, blue, black, etc): palm trees, a swan, clouds and other plants & flora. Beautifully done. Gilt trim around the opening and base. Leaded crystal - gives a beautiful 'ding' when tapped. See photos... Dimensions: 10 1/4" tall; opening is 3 3/8" in diameter; base is 3 3/4" in diameter Markings: none Condition: Excellent. No breaks, cracks, major chips, repairs/restorations, discoloration or cloudiness. There's one small (and very old - edges are worn very smooth) chip on the perimeter of the base which you'll only find on very, very close examination. There's roughness around the interior of the perimeter of the opening, but no chips/fleabites. There's very little colored paint loss, but there is wear to the gilt trim around the opening and especially around the foot (where it's nearly all gone). ***Any white 'spots' are from light/camera reflection only - they're not on the vase.
Payment:
All payments must be received within 5 days of auction close. If not, eBay will be contacted about non-payment and item will be re-listed. Please, if you have a problem making the payment on time, let me know as soon as possible so we can work it out.
Payments Accepted: - Domestic (US) buyers: I accept and prefer payment be made through PayPal, although I also accept money orders and personal checks (item will be shipped after check clears, usually about 10 days after receipt).
- International buyers must pay through PayPal.
Refunds & Returns:
If you win this item and upon receiving it find my description to be grossly inaccurate, I will gladly refund the full (or partial, if applicable) bid price, minus a 10% restocking fee (this covers the listing cost). Returning buyer pays for shipping & insurance back to me. * Please read description thoroughly and completely and ask all questions prior to bidding - I do not accept returns for reasons other than gross inadequacy in my descriptions. * In order to receive a full or partial refund for any reason, item(s) in question must be returned to me * I must be notified by email that there's a problem within 3 days of receipt - I will not accept returns without this.
Shipping:
- I'll ship this item anywhere to anyone. International bidders are welcome.
- Please use the shipping calculator included in all my listings to determine the cost of shipping
- High bidder pays winning bid plus shipping (see below) and insurance. I don't insist on insurance for all items (for items over $50.00 I do), but even though your item will be packed very well, I strongly suggest it - I can't be held responsible for damage or loss in the mail.
- Domestic Shipping:
- I normally ship via USPS Priority Mail (approx. 2-3 day transit time).
- For heavier / larger items I give an option for USPS Parcel Post (approx. 5-9 business days).
- I require Delivery Confirmation on every domestic item I send out. This lets both seller & buyer track their item in transit, and gives the Post Office a way to find it should it get lost. ***An additional shipping charge of $1.00 is added to all items shipped via USPS Parcel Post, to cover the cost of additional packing expenses and Delivery Confirmation.
- Insurance:
- $201.00 and up insured items require a signature (they will not be just left at your door)
- $50.00-$200.00 insured items will be left at your door. If you'd prefer to sign for your item, please let me know before paying for your item - Signature Confirmation will have to be added.
- International Shipping (including Canada):
- USPS First Class Mail International: For items 4 lbs and under.Transit time varies, depending on the country it's being sent to, but usually a minimum of 10 business days. This doesn't give an option for insurance or tracking, so if you want to insure and/or track your item, it must be sent via USPS Priority Mail International (which is usually more expensive - see below).
- USPS Priority Mail International: For items over 4 pounds, and for any insured & tracked items. Approx. transit time of 6-10 business days. The fee includes a small amount of insurance based on the weight of the package; additional insurance is available.
***An additional shipping charge of $2.00 is added to all items shipped via First Class International, to cover the cost of additional packing expenses. Multiple Item Shipping:
I'm happy to combine shipping charges on multiple wins, within reason. Please Note: USPS recently began charging extra for domestic (US) 'oversized' boxes (length plus girth exceeds 84" or 1 cubic foot), depending on the zones of the sender & receiver. So in some cases, multiple item shipping requiring an oversized box may cost you more than separate shipping! In this case, the best way to ship is Parcel Post (5-9 business days), which doesn't charge extra for the same 'oversized' box. I'll usually send you a choice of shipping options when this is happens...
