Description of item for sale:
This antique Morbier clock was produced in the village of Malansac in the Breton region of France (clockmaker’s name and location shown on the face). It dates to the mid/late 1800’s. This one is particularly nice since it is complete and original. Included are the brass wall bracket, original weights and winding crank. The eight day clockworks are in good condition and run properly. The clock strikes once on the half-hour and tolls the hours on a wire gong. As with most of these clocks, the tolling of the hour is repeated once on a one minute interval. The entire clock set is in excellent antique condition, with no damage of any significance. Note that the face is made from thin gilt brass sheet metal and shows small dents as is typical of these old clocks. Dimensions-face: 17" tall, 13" wide; pendulum: 40" long, 11" across. We apologize for the high shipping charges-this clock requires shipment in several packages and the one for the pendulum is quite large. Please be sure to check at the bottom of this listing to see if any corrections or answers to questions have been posted.
