Featured on the cover of Mt. Washington Art Glass and Webb Burmese Identification and Value Guide by Betty B. Sisk.
Truly a beautiful piece of art glass, and not one you will find everyday. The pattern is called ribbed pillar. Production is by Mt. Washington Art Glass Co circa 1880. Made in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This beautifully shaded glass was made by first starting with a batch of opal and adding oxide of uranium and reduced gold, this created a yellow opaque glass which upon reheating turned to a salmon color shading into the yellow. Further reheating turned the salmon color back to the yellow. Amazing and beautiful Burmese.
Shaker is in perfect condition and stands 4 1/8" tall. The lid is in excellent condition as well. No nicks, chips, cracks or dents.
