Makers include The Durand “Fancy Shop” of Vineland, Vineland Flint Glass Works, Kimble Art Glass, Swedesboro Glass Works, Bridgeton – The Town of Twenty Glassworks, Larson Glass, Doerr Glass Company Inc., Eagle and Union Glass Works, and many, many more. 237 black-and-white plates and 19 full-page color plates illustrate over 500 examples of New Jersey produced glass. “The author’s account of the glassmakers is not only exhaustive and thoroughly documented but adds much valuable information to what has hitherto been written on the subject. Eminently readable, the book goes far beyond a cataloguing of firms past and present and will be sought by every collector and anyone interested in American social history.” This rare book is a collector’s item in itself and belongs in the permanent reference library of the collector, dealer or historian of early American glass including art glass.
