This was purchased from an estate auction, and I was told it was unmarked Nippon (100+ years old). I found a very helpful article by a fellow ebay seller that you might want to look at to see why I believe that what I was told is true. Go to Ebay Home then to Buy then to Reviews and Guides and, finally, to Unmarked Nippon-Identifying & Evaluating Unmarked Ware to read this informative article and then you be the judge.
My first closeup picture is very true to the colors in this piece.
The violets and larger leaves on the bowl have various shades of purple and of green. Notice the little "framed" flowers around the edge of the bowl. Two of these are in a rust color; two are in blue; and two are in violet. The handpainting is excellent and the leaves and flowers have more than one shade of color. The rust and blue flowers are repeated three times each on the bottom of the bowl. This is a nice quality piece!
There is minimal paint wear and what I would call fairly minor moriage loss. The moriage loss is primarily in the little white beads that surround the "framed" flowers. At least I guess some are missing. It's hard to tell if perhaps this is the way they were originally done.
Depth is about 2 inches; diameter is approximately 10 inches.
