Whoops, had a bid before we could add this information: Up for auction with no reserve is this gorgeous trefoil shaped porcelain nappy featuring a completely hand-painted interior depicting a tropical landscape scene at sunrise/sunset including ocean, palm trees and lush foliage with an island or jetty in the distance. On the outer edge are two lavender floral paintings. There is delicate guilded moriage along the inner scalloped rim as well as a band of gold around the base (some slight wear there). The vine-shaped loop handle is heavily gilded and the previous owners must have taken extra care not to use the handle, as it shows almost no wear. It measures approximately 6 3/4" in length (including handle), 5 3/4" in width and 1 3/4" in height. Although this bowl is not marked, one can be certain that it is Nippon and probably produced & decorated by one of the finer companies such as Noritake. There are NO chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Bid with confidence!
