This old antique German doll was most likely made for the French market. She is cute as a button and measures approximately 12 1/2 inches tall. She is a great cabinet size and would make a wonderful big sister for your Bleuette.
This late 1880's Victorian doll has beautiful brown spiral glass paperweight eyes, a jointed wood/composition body with straight wrists, open mouth with teeth, very thick multi-stroke early style flat eyebrows, upper and lower painted lashes, and a gorgeous old auburn human hair wig with lots of curls. It has a label inside that says 100% Cheveux Naturels Made In France.
She is wearing an antique dress with antique pantaloons underneath, newer socks and shoes. The old dress has some wear and tear consistent with extreme age, but is intact and looks lovely on her.
Her head has no damage with the exception of a factory firing line on the rim which was done during the firing process. Her body is in good condition but has some normal age related wear which includes light crackling to the varnish.
She has a teeny tiny rub on her right cheek and a tiny pin dot sized pit on her left cheek.
This doll has such an adorable face and you will love her!
