Antique Painted PICHVAI Indian Temple Hanging KRISHNA

This comes from a local estate in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia. It is an antique textile from India. The gentleman had traveled a lot, and had unusual items from all over the world. I have been told by an antiques dealer that this called a "Pichvai", which (according to Wikepedia) is an Indian Temple Hanging with scenes from the life of Hindu Deity Lord Krishna. These hangings were used as backdrops for the Idols. This appears to be cotton, and is hand painted with (I assume!) Krishna featured in the center. There are 6 cows, 4 storks, and a number of fish and flowers. It is very colorful and bright, but the fabric is very thin and fragile and damaged. There are also some tears in the fabric, and the paint has worn off the Krishna from being folded. This is actually 4 pieces of cotton that are sewn together. It measures 22 1/2" tall and 44" wide. This needs a good home, and should be framed on acid free paper in my opinion. It has come from a non-smoking environment.
